Established in what was once the Lainé colonial goods depot and has since been reworked by architects Denis Valode, Jean Pistre and Andrée Putmann, the CAPC Contemporary Art Museum of Bordeaux is devoted to emerging artistic talent of today. The permanent collection is one of the largest in France: 1,299 works by 189 different artists, bearing witness to half a century of international avant-garde successes, revealing new practices of contemporary art and showing exactly just how well connected this place is with the Bordeaux art scene. The whole year features a filled schedule of temporary exhibitions and history of art events, along with guided tours and practical art training open to children.
