The soon to be opened Seeko’o Hotel in Bordeaux, France is an ultra-modern hotel that takes full advantage of the gorgeous scenery of the port city in the southwest of France.
Now, my French may not be the best, but I can tell that this is one hip hotel. Even if my translations fail, my eyes definitely do not. The ultra sleek design has a purity that elevates the decor to the pinnacle of modernity.
Seeko’o is an Inuit word for “iceberg” which, considering the location, may not seem quite suitable, but when the crispness of the decor is factored in, it makes complete sense.
The images show a bedroom which almost looks like a luxury suite on the back of a cruise ship with its breathtaking view of the water. Another room with crisp white walls save for a stencil of the number 103 has bright red pod chairs. The featured bathroom has such clean lines, the flawless white contrasting with darker accents is impeccable, and the sink dazzles as the room’s center piece, with a glistening bowl-like sink and blow dryer holster.
Drinks can be had at Le Seeko’o Bar, the funky onsite venue that serves up multicoloured cocktails and fine bubbled champagnes in a setting sure to be popular for those wanting to see and be seen.
Bordeaux architects King Kong are about to release their design proposals for a de luxe hotel, whose white facade will be created entirely from Corian®, a world first. The architects at King Kong have envisioned a slightly crazy sculptural concept, which is a complete break, and at the same time, perfectly in sympathy with the ‘City of Stone’ spirit that is fundamental to the architectural character of Bordeaux. As they say themselves, it is “an architectural project which is innovative, of matchless quality and which is totally in step with the mood of the city and those who value it.”
